“Safety” the condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk, or injury.
“Support” to bear all or part of the weight of; hold up.
To feel safe and supported is a longing most of us have, we may seek it in people or places. In a world where the odds often seem stacked against us, it is great to know there is somewhere we can go to escape it all or find much-needed solace. Oftentimes we may tell ourselves that we are capable of braving it on our own, that we can bear it all.
Our muses sit back to back bearing each other’s “weight”. The idea of this is simply to illustrate the strength of sharing a burden with another. One of our muses has his eyes closed to symbolize trust and surrender. It is easy to think strength comes from being the toughest, but as we rely on each other, we do not only feel less alone but are reminded to take it easy on ourselves. There are many that do not have the luxury of a support system or safety, if you are fortunate enough to have both, I urge you to utilize them. You are not weak for needing it, you are not weak for giving it, you are only human and it is okay to surrender and heave that sigh.
As you navigate another week, remind yourself you are worthy of being cared for and loved. Life in itself, comes with many challenges and difficulites, we cannot always brave it alone, it’s alright to need or accept support and it’s even better to give it when you can.
I found this state to be perfect to debut with because it is my hope that this blog can be a safe space for you. A place you can come to and feel seen, heard and less alone.
Until next time, I bid you adieu.
